The holiday season and winter break flew by. It was hard to be in NY, but my siblings and I were together and tried to make the best of it. My time in NY was spent eating, drinking DD coffee and working on things around the house. It was very strange to not have any decorations, so we improvised with stockings and a Chrismakkah Bush. The large photo is one of the streets in my town and what it looked like the day I left. That is flooding from minimal rain and wind. This whole part of the neighborhood was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Many of those houses are like facades, the water ripped the back halves apart.
After my trip to NY, I headed back to WV to catch a flight to Tampa. I had to get my sister's approval of my traveling outfit. The wine glass chandelier and bottles as decorations were at a wine bar called Beaudevin (beauty of wine) in the Charlotte airport. I highly recommend it if you have time between flights. I sampled two whites and had an amazing salad! On my second flight, I had great leg room and when I arrived in Tampa, a few cruise ships were docked and ready to head out to sea.
While in Tampa, we celebrated Christmas again, I got my nails done, went out and again, ate like a king queen. Notice a theme?
We started our New Year's celebration with Tate's brother, his girlfriend and several of their friends with dinner at Timpano in Hyde Park Village. The meal started with antipasto and soup - they served an amazing lobster bisque. I had the Osso Bucco as my meal and also tried their chicken and stuffed lobster. Dessert was champagne and a molten chocolate cake!
After dinner, we all moved upstairs to the top of the parking garage for "Rooftop Eve". The theme was Masquerade Noir, so we came prepared with our masks. It was neat to see all the different masks that people were wearing. We counted down to midnight and continued the celebration well into the night!

I'm so sorry about your town =( It would be awful to have to deal with that at any time but especially hard during the holidays.
